Where I live, the year 2016 has got just 30 minutes left and because of a day filled with oversights and errors, I find myself abandoning "Val Farrell's Blog" which has served us well over the years and venturing into new territory..
"Along The Edge" is to be the title of the new Blog. I'm not sure why, but as the clock ticks down to midnight and a New Year the title seems apt. 2017 will undoubtedly hold many historic moments for us, but for the most part our lives will probably consist of the ordinary and the mundane, the very flotsam and jetsam of life.
But if we have learned nothing else from life it is surely that along the edge of our days lies the very stuff of beauty, truth, and glory. Here may be found all that is key to our combined destinies.
Our new blog will pay special attention to those areas of life we are often tempted to ignore but which stubbornly refuse to ignore us.
Let us journey together along the edge helping each other to notice and reflect, discover and enjoy. As a niece often reminds me "Uncle Val, do not postpone joy". She's right of course. We have no need to postpone joy;all we need is there along the edge. Let's go.
